The first-time
independent travel--Tokyo
During the years of the epidemic, I didn’t travel abroad for a long time. When I was little, me and my family always chose to travel with a group. This summer, I had decided to travel to Tokyo, and I want to take a try, organize an independent trip.
At first, I spent a lot of time looking for travel sharing blogs, and pick out some spot I am interest in. Next, I need to study the Japanese tram system to decide which package I want to buy. I think this part is the most difficult one, because Japan’s tram system is not run by the same company, so it is very complicated.
After a few weeks’ arrangement, I finally getting everything organized. For my first independent trip, I was excited about it. I can’t even sleep whole night. When the plane arrived in Japan, I really felt that everything was so new to me. On the first day, I also had a tragic incident. When I arrived at my hotel with my luggage in tow, and the hotel staff told me that this was not the hotel I had booked, and that I had booked is different branch! It delayed my schedule considerably. But I think it's one of the fun things about independent travel, and it's also an experience.
In the following days, I deeply appreciated the scenery and culture of Japan. It is really a beautiful country. In addition, I ate a lot of delicious food, bought a lot of goods, and wore a kimono. However, My favorite part of the trip was the night view from an observation deck in shibuya, where you can enjoy a 360-degree view of Tokyo at night. Tokyo is really a prosperous city, and the scale of the night view is unlike anything I've seen in Taiwan. If anyone is coming to Tokyo, I really recommend this spot!
During the few days I traveled in Tokyo, I also improved my Japanese skills, because there was no tour guide, so I had to communicate with the locals by myself wherever I went, which also helped me to train myself to speak Japanese, and I think this was also the happy thing for me in this trip!
After the end of the trip, I feel very satisfied that I decided to arrange the whole trip by myself, I learned a lot of skills in arranging the itinerary during this trip, and I also experienced Tokyo in a more in-depth way than escorted tour. This winter vacation, I hope to travel to Osaka by myself. I’ve never travel aboard in winter, and I don’t know if I’ll have the chance to see snow. I can’t help but look forward to it!
