The one of my favorite anime -Attack On Titan
This time I would like to introduce you one of my favorite anime, Attack on Titan. I've been watching this anime since I was in the 5th grade, and after 10 years, the final season ended on 11/5. When I was in elementary school, I had fun watching this anime because I thought it was just a normal passionate manga. Also, I remember my elementary school class uniform's design was based on this manga! (Attack on 504) I miss it!
Because it took so many years for the second season to come out, I remember that many people had stopped watching it at that time. However, because it took so many years for the second season to come out, it made me realize that when I watched the anime at different ages, I could get very different feelings. When I watched it in high school, I thought the worldview of the anime was very special, and I also felt the helplessness of the storyline in this work. Moreover, after I entered the Philosophy Department in college, I found this anime even more meaningful, and it even talked about free will and determinism.
It made me feel that this anime is more than just an anime.
I saw the finale a few days ago at home and cried so hard I couldn't help myself, I really think if I could only recommend one anime in my life I'd push this one!
This is the exhibition I went to see earlier this year!
Share a couple of interesting points of free will and determinism.
A Working Definition of Free Will
Free Will: the unique ability of persons to exercise the strongest sense of control over their actions necessary for moral responsibility. (If you do an act based on your will and you can control your will, then you are responsible for your actions. )
*Determinism: Facts about the remote past in conjunction with the laws of nature entail that there is only one unique future.
Two Conceptions of Free Will
Compatbilist Free Will: X acts freely, if and only if X acts what she wants to do (caused by X’s beliefs and desires) without impediments.
Incompatbilist Free Will: X acts freely, if and only if she could have done otherwise than she did (the past and laws of nature remaining constant).
Which concept of free will do you think is being discussed in the anime?
Finally, I'd like to introduce you to my favorite characters. Mikasa Ackerman she is a very tough girl and also very powerful. I think she is a very attractive girl.
I would also like to introduce my favorite song in this anime, I think it expresses the main character's state of mind completely, and it's really touching every time I listen to it.
